in which was on the site during February of 2002. Links and
images that may be listed below may not work due to maintenance
to the site since the posting of the news.
| Updates
Posted Wednesday, February 27, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | This week's updates have been and will continue to be a little sketchy due to a health emergency in the family. I'll try to bang out a few more updates for the week, however. | | . |
| Community News
Posted Wednesday, February 27, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Community news has been pretty slow the past few weeks.
RCT Haven's contest is over, and the results are up.
RCT Inc's webmaster has been battling ISP problems over the past few weeks. They've added a new community park, their boards have been down, and the P-Spot is almost done for this round.
RCT Stalls-n-All has been shut down. Damon (GamerD86) has sent over the following email:
Due to the recent downfall of RCT-HQ.net, my beloved site, RCT Stalls-n-All, will be closing its doors. I do not have the time, resources, and, most recently, a server to work on my site. Also, I am about to get a job, which will give me less time to do the stuff I like to do. I know Gif offered to host me on his upcoming site, and I thank him very much for that, but I feel God has said its time for me to move on with my life, and that is what Im going to do. There will be no Gamers Hut, either, as the same problems apply here, also. I do have a copy of my site on my computer, and so, if Jim wishes, all interviews, parks, etc. will be transferred over to RCT Station. I have known Jim ever since I had found RCT Station a year ago and feel this to be the best choice to make. | | . |
| Articles
Posted Monday, February 25, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | A few generous people pointed out two hotkeys that were added in Loopy Landscapes, so I had to update the hotkeys article.
I've also written a short article on saving your track design. Hopefully this will put an end to this question I get emailed rather often. Apparently no one reads game manuals anymore. | | . |
| Hotkeys
Posted Sunday, February 24, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Surprising to find that there wasn't an article in the knowledge base about the hotkeys/keyboard shortcuts, I wrote a quick article about them. Several more articles are on the way for the month of March. | | . |
| Contest Over
Posted Sunday, February 24, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | The February contest is over. All results should have been in last night. We should have the results up by the 1st. | | . |
| New scenarios added
Posted Saturday, February 23, 2002 by BLĄde | | | | Labyrinth Miffy's maze Hidden valley Get them in the Scenarios section! | | . |
| Deadline Coming
Posted Saturday, February 23, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | You have until Midnight tonight (Eastern time zone) to get your February contest entries in. Anything late will be deleted, so hurry. | | . |
| Studying RCT Time
Posted Friday, February 22, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | We have a wealth of very knowledgeable RCT players on the staff, and it's quite amazing what they'll turn up sometimes. Dave (rct help) has written a rather unusual type of article. He actually took the time and studied things in RCT as they happened in relation to time. Check out his article in the knowledge base. | | . |
| News Archive
Posted Friday, February 22, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Taking a note out of Ogre's playbook, I put up a news archive for RCT Station. Browse through some of the old archives, dating back to January 2001. About 99% of the old news articles are in there. I could probably get the missing 1% in there, but it's not worth the effort.
I'd also like to make note of the heading of the news archive index:
Some of the links and pictures may not work in some of the old news pages, due to changes made to the site since then.
Keep that in mind when looking through the archives. Things have changed quite a bit since then. I can't help but think that this site has had this design since January 2001. That's the longest any site on Ogre's Network or Gametropics has ever kept a design... | | . |
| New Poll
Posted Thursday, February 21, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | The big rumor from Danimation's forums proved to be a hoax as there was no glimpse of the news of an RCT announcement anywhere. Were you taken in by the rumor, or did you know it for what it was? Take the poll. | | . |
| Contest
Posted Thursday, February 21, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Just a reminder, the February contest is almost up. Get those entries in!
The March contest signup thread has been started. Unlike previous contests, you'll have to signup for this one, so go check it out and signup. | | . |
| Saved Games
Posted Wednesday, February 20, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | I've just added ten new LL saved games. They were intended for yesterday, as you can see by the dates on the index file; my schedule is completely messed up right now. | | . |
| Contests
Posted Tuesday, February 19, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | The February contest is winding down. Since February is a short month, you have fewer days to get your entry in. I'd just like to remind everyone that the cut-off date for entries is midnight February 23 EST (Saturday night, so there is no confusion).
I will also be announcing the signup for the March contest; that's right, you'll need to sign up. Stay tuned for details on this in a day or two. | | . |
| Links Section
Posted Tuesday, February 19, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | I would just like to remind everyone that if they have an RCT or coaster-related website that they would like linked to by RCT Station that you should contact Carrie Holsinger about it. The section will be getting another big update fairly soon. | | . |
| Ogrewood Series
Posted Tuesday, February 19, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Ogre has finished up his latest addition to the Ogrewood series. This is of course Ogrewood 7. | | . |

| Community News
Posted Friday, February 15, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Not too much happening this week from the looks of it all.
The RCT Depot has added a few parks. They're looking for submissions right now, and considering a new host.
RCT Inc has added their Exclusive Rights section.
RCT 1000 is working on a site redesign.
RCT Simple has relaunched their site, along with a new design. | | . |
| Track Packs
Posted Friday, February 15, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Steve Franks has made a few modications to his The Reel @ Pleasure Beach track pack this past week. Steve has also finished up a brand new pack, Ultra Twister @ AstroWorld. You can find them both right here. | | . |
| Fan sites updated
Posted Thursday, February 14, 2002 by Carrie Holsinger | | | | I have added 11 new websites to the Fan Sites section of the links page today! If you would like a link to your RCT fan or coaster related website added, please post it in the Site Advertisements forum as I will be checking every so often for more sites to add to the list. You can also e-mail me your website if you would like and I will check it out. | | . |
| Vending Machines
Posted Thursday, February 14, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Mike Robbins has written up a short tutorial on how to make his vending machines. Many people in the forums have asked for instructions on how to do this, and it was obviously time to help people out.
We'll have more articles in the next few days, as well as some new content from Steve Franks. | | . |
| Patches
Posted Wednesday, February 13, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | While the majority of the visitors are from either the US or UK, many are not. I've just added all of the missing patches. Be sure to check to see if you have the latest version. | | . |
| About RCT Station
Posted Wednesday, February 13, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | The about RCT Station page has been greatly updated with Frequently Asked Questions, Awards, and Mini Staff Bios.
Looks like some of the problems are fixed on the server now; sorry for the delay in updates. | | . |
| Ogresnet News Editor
Posted Tuesday, February 12, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | While I'm waiting for a problem to be fixed on the server, I figured I may as well add this newsbit to the site. We're looking for someone to post gaming and tech news on Ogresnet. You can stop by the site and look at the Jobs page for further details. | | . |
| Interview
Posted Monday, February 11, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | It's been a very long time since our last interview. I felt it was time to work on something new. Today's big interview is with Allister Brimble, creator of the various sounds and music we get to enjoy everytime we load RollerCoaster Tycoon.
Many thanks go out to Allister for participating in the interview. | | . |
| Updates for the week
Posted Sunday, February 10, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Last week, I spent time getting this week's updates ready. That's why there were only a few. We'll see how the week goes, as I'm not done with it all yet. I'm still working on getting Carrie situated here at the site.
To start off the week, there are eight new loopy landscapes parks. | | . |
| RCTUK seeking help
Posted Saturday, February 9, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Crispy has announced a new program on RCTUK to get people to help out with the site. I'll be the first to admit that running a big site isn't easy. He's seeking people to run the various sections on the site. He's even added a pretty slick application form.
This reminds me somewhat of what the folks at CraggsRCT did, thus forming http://www.rollercoasternet.com. | | . |
| RCT Inc Updates
Posted Saturday, February 9, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Chris (Jacko) wanted to let everyone know that they've changed their poll and a new section is on the way. Apparently, he's making an attempt at getting the Exclusive Rights section back online. That will be a nice section when it's finished, I'm sure. | | . |

| Community News
Posted Friday, February 8, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | What a hectic week this has been...
The sales charts for PC games are in. RCT dropped a few spots, which is not surprising at all.
Coasters 2K relaunched recently with a new design.
RCT Plaza is closed due to work on a new design.
RCT Stalls-n-All has a new forum skin and a new park project.
RCT Inc has several bits of news. Fox has left the site. They need P-Spot submissions. Sixteen new saved games have been added to the site.
Tycoon Planet has started a new february contest.
Coaster Games has launched. They're looking for submissions.
RCT Haven has relaunched. They have started a new contest as well. | | . |
| Track Pack
Posted Wednesday, February 6, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Steve Franks has finished Europe's first water coaster, Vonkaputous. You can grab it, as well as all of his other recreations right here. | | . |
| Quite a Sunday
Posted Monday, February 4, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | The Superbowl was an excellent game in my opinion. That was the best fourth quarter I've seen in a very long time. In case you missed the game, the Patriots beat the Rams 20-17, giving the Patriots their first superbowl victory in franchise history.
Yesterdays update, which was a ton of Loopy Landscapes finished scenarios, had to receive an update today. I goofed on one of the scenario names (Crazy Lake should have been Crater Lake). Anyway, that's fixed. | | . |
| Finished Scenarios
Posted Sunday, February 3, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Consider this to be Monday's update as well, as I've got quite a bit going on.
I've just uploaded some scenarios for the Loopy Landscapes portion of the finished scenarios section. | | . |
| Report a Problem Page
Posted Saturday, February 2, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | The Report a Problem page is NOT intended for general help with the game. This is for problems with the website. If you're having problems with RollerCoaster Tycoon, please post your questions on the message boards. | | . |
| New scenarios added
Posted Saturday, February 2, 2002 by BLĄde | | | | Gorilla park Earth colony Lost river mine Nero's ruins Boardwalk beach Fir world Paradise islands Area 5 Hydro park Crazy mine Frantic freeway Now available in the Scenarios section! | | . |
| New Poll
Posted Friday, February 1, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | The last poll ran for several weeks because I really wanted to see what you wanted in this site. The obvious winner was coaster recreations, with coaster gallery coming in second. We'll see how these end up working out. I thank everyone for their imput.
This week, I'm asking about whether or not you'll be entering the new February contest, which was just announced on Wednesday. | | . |
| Spotlight
Posted Friday, February 1, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Now I can dismiss all of those questions about when we'll get a spotlight. Feel free to click on the ad banner above for details on the new spotlight. | | . |
| More Hacking
Posted Friday, February 1, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Thanks to a few of our forum members, we've been able to add several hacking articles over the past week or so. I've just added a new one, creating smoke stacks. | | . |
| Still Holding
Posted Friday, February 1, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | RollerCoaster Tycoon appears to still be holding onto its fourth place. It seems to have a strong grip on the location, as it's been there for a while now.
