Alpengeist in Super Bowl Ads
Posted Tuesday, January 30, 2001 by Red Phoenix

Apparently, I missed this one. Anyway, Pepsi used this Busch Gardens Williamsburg beauty in an advertisement.

In case you missed it, as I did, you can see it here!

Affiliates Section
Posted Monday, January 29, 2001 by Red Phoenix

As you may notice, there is now a list of affiliates.

Things may be a little hectic around here this week. I've got a project at another site, so I can't guarantee an update every day. :-(

Steve Franks should have a new Track Pack this week.
Forum Maintenance
Posted Saturday, January 27, 2001 by Red Phoenix

I've made several changes to the forums. I've simplified a few of the forums, and I've added a few new ones. I'm hoping that the Screenshots forum will catch on, as that's one of my favorites on other sites.

Posted Friday, January 26, 2001 by Red Phoenix

New Layout For Track File Downloads
Posted Wednesday, January 24, 2001 by Ogre

Okay Ogre has just redone the entire track file downloads area. Plus I have added many more track submissions. And we now even have some new sections. You will not only find roller coasters and car rides for download but also log flumes, river rapids, go karts, and water slides. Red Phoenix has told me he is working on a project that will add something like 500 track files to our already large database of tracks.

Submissions Notice
Posted Tuesday, January 23, 2001 by Red Phoenix

Before you go and submit something, please check out the submissions page. It's been slightly altered. I no longer require screenshots to be taken.

RCTUK Updates
Posted Monday, January 22, 2001 by Red Phoenix

Well, it's great to see RCTUK is back. RCTUK has went through a few design changes, and has also got new forums.

Also, they've uploaded nearly 100 rides, which are sure to please visitors. I recommend that you check out the changes.

Upcoming Contest
Posted Friday, January 19, 2001 by Red Phoenix

Starting a January contest at this point wouldn't make much sense, so I'm announcing that there will be a contest in February. However, due to the horrible turnout in the contests we've hosted thus far, this may be the last contest for some time. The last contest gave people two whole months to make a park and submit it. On Monday, January 29th, I'll post the rules and such, so stay tuned.

If you want a monthly contest, I suggest that you tell your RCT friends about this...
Steve Franks' Real World Track Packs
Posted Friday, January 19, 2001 by Red Phoenix

The maintenance has finally come to end on those pages. I've got all of the new images and Zip files uploaded. All of the packs had to be updated due to the change with our internet address. Other than an updated DOC file, there were other changes:

Raptor @ Cedar Point has new preview images, a new Loopy Landscapes track, and an updated Doc file.

TOP GUN @ Kings Island has a new preview image and an updated Doc file.

Leap the Dips has a new preview image.

Viriginia Reel @ Kinney Park has a new preview image.

Raging Wolf Bobs @ Geauga Lake has had a name change. It's now called Raging Wolf Bobs @ Six Flags Ohio.

This weekend will feature a new pack, The Santa Monica Coasters, so stay tuned.
Added A New Section Entitled Cheats
Posted Thursday, January 18, 2001 by Ogre

Ogre has added a new section entitled cheats. Okay before I get backlash saying, there are no cheats in RCT! These are actually what I would call Easter Eggs. By that I mean they are things that are hidden in the game. Check out the section for more information.

Funland Amusements
Posted Wednesday, January 17, 2001 by Red Phoenix

Every one of the Funland Amusement parks have been updated. The readme files had to be updated due to a few changes.

Please bear with us...
Posted Monday, January 15, 2001 by Red Phoenix

Even though Ogre and I went through a few days of correcting things, not everything is perfect yet, so please be patient if you see something wrong. If you do manage to spot something wrong, either email me at redphoenix@gametropics.com or Ogre at webmaster@gametropics.com. We'll try and get things running as smoothly as possible.
A New Chapter In RCT
Posted Monday, January 15, 2001 by Red Phoenix

Welcome to RCT Station! RCT Station is now part of the new Game Tropics Network. We will offer up only the best PC Strategy and Simulation game information. This is one of the reason that we are doing a Roller Coaster Tycoon series site. Here you will find just about everything you need to enhance you RCT gaming experience. Here is what Game Tropics has to say:

"Today I am happy to announce that the Game Tropics Network is back online. After an absence from the web for a year and a half, I think it is about time that this great idea comes back to life. That idea is one of bringing fans of strategy and simulation games together. How do we think we can stay around after many sites of this type have died?

The strategy genre to some people is dying, but I say not so! Most strategy titles have fans. An we are here to aide you in getting the most out of your game. By most, I mean a place where all fans are welcomed. Where you can find great downloads for your games. To start off we will cover certain things.

Currently we are a small network of dedicated strategy and simulation game sites. We focus on five game series, however in the future this will be changed to include more. These game series include Age of Empires, Empire Earth, Rogue Spear, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and Microsoft Train Simulator."
