| Icewind Dale II Review
Posted Monday, September 23, 2002 by Ogre | | | | Ogre's Network reviewer Dan Simpson takes a look at Icewind Dale II. Here is a snippet from the review:
"Interplay had a modest hit with Icewind Dale, even though it had to compete against the colossus Baldur’s Gate II and the juggernaut Diablo II. After canceling the RPG “Torn,” Interplay needed a quick influx of money. Enter Icewind Dale II. Originally conceived as a quick sequel, it ended out considerably larger than the first game. Icewind Dale II might dwarf the original even with its two expansion packs, Heart of Winter and Trials of the Luremaster, added in."

| Graham Somers Interview at Ogre's Network
Posted Monday, September 23, 2002 by Ogre | | | | Graham was known to many throughout the Age of Mythology community as Thunder from Age of Mythology Heaven. Just recently he moved from the fan side to the development side when he joined Big Huge Games, developers of the upcoming title Rise of Nations, as their community manager. Here is a snippet from the article:
"Ogre: You work in the same building with some veteran gaming developers, Brian Reynolds, for one. What’s that like?
Graham Somers: Well, generally we’re all working away so you don’t have time to think too much about that. The whole team here is so friendly and helpful, Brian included, so the fact that they are veterans and I am just a newcomer is really a good thing for me. I am learning a lot!
Brian is the guy down the hall. Sure he’s the President of the company and has a spiffy office. When he comes wandering up to you to shoot the breeze though, eating a plate load of olives, he generally strikes you as someone who is easy to get along with."

| Paying For Gaming
Posted Tuesday, September 17, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Ogre's Network editor Ogre has just done up another one of his From The Lair editorials on the electronic gaming industry. Here is a little snippet from the article:
"To be perfectly honest I am almost unsure on which way to go on this topic. There are plenty of games out there for which one can buy and play to their hearts content without paying another dime, except maybe for the occasional expansion pack. However, on the other hand you do get what you pay for."

| New Element is Back
Posted Saturday, September 14, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | You may remember that New Element left Digital Coaster's hosting when their bandwidth problems surfaced again. It now looks like New Element is back up. You can find the new site at http://www.nedesigns.com/. They do have a new site design. Keep in mind that they're still in progress of getting the entire site up, so a few parts aren't quite ready. | | . |

Also, the contest ends in a few weeks, so if you haven't started working on the contest, you still have time. We have only received a few entries, so you may have a very good shot at winning this one. | | . |
| Huge Update
Posted Thursday, September 12, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Since I have other sections of the site to work on (track database), this will probably be the only public site update for the rest of the week/end.
A huge thanks goes out to Mithras for transferring the saved game and steve franks track pack files to our new mirror, GameBrainUK.com. A big thanks goes out to them for offering to help us out with file hosting. So, yes, this means the saved games section, as well as Steve Franks' track packs are up for the most part.
I added five new saved games to Dantheman's saved games section.
I added a new saved game to Dingo 65's saved games section.
I added a new new workbenches.
Steve Franks' coaster height chart has been updated.
Within the next couple of weeks, I should have multiple mirror sites available for downloading files, meaning, there will be another mirror site, and you'll get the option to choose which of the sites you download each file from. But again, this will take a few weeks to setup. | | . |
| Files Down
Posted Tuesday, September 10, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | As I indicated the other day, Digital Coaster is now down, so all of Steve Franks' work, as well as the saved games are down. I'm working on mirror sites right now, so with the help of Mithras, we should have the files up by this weekend. | | . |
| New Utility
Posted Tuesday, September 10, 2002 by Red Phoenix | | | | Although I haven't placed it on RCT Station's download pages yet, I noticed that Doctor J has posted some news on his TID Website about a new utility, which makes water rides go up lift hills faster. I haven't tried it yet either. | | . |

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 has gone gold, according to Infogrames, the game's publisher. But even though the game is now complete, it will take a while for the copies to be printed and distributed. The previously announced mid-October release date still stands.
