Patches
I have pulled together on this page
most of the various patches for Rollercoaster Tycoon. They include
official and unofficial patches.
Official Patches
You should be aware that official
patches CANNOT be installed over a "Drexlerized" RCT.exe
file.
Scenario Progress Recovery Patch
If you have lost your scenario progress
since changing your clock then you need to download this patch.
The patch re-associates the scenario progress and opens up what
you have won. Don't worry about all of the stuff you have
lost, it will usually come back.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Patch
This patch specifically addresses issues users may be having with
the SecuRom copy protection included with the game. If the game
fails to run after being installed, particularly immediately after
the cursor on-screen briefly turns into an animated CDROM, this
patch may address that issue.
Note that this patch addresses NO other
gameplay issues. If you are able to launch the game now, you do
not need this update.
Installation Instructions:
Using your favorite .ZIP program, unzip
the RCT2.EXE file into the folder you installed Roller Coaster Tycoon
2 to. By default, this is C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\RollerCoaster
Tycoon 2. If you installed into a different folder, be sure to extract
to that folder, or extract into a temporary folder and copy the
files into that folder.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Pink Water
Add-On/Patch 
This add-on/patch adds an extra color of water to RollerCoaster
Tycoon 2. It will appear as an extra water color in the scenario
editor when you go to create a new scenario.
Installation Instructions:
Using your favorite .ZIP program, unzip
the WTRPINK.DAT file into the folder you installed Roller Coaster
Tycoon 2 to. By default, this is C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\RollerCoaster
Tycoon 2\ObjData. If you installed into a different folder, be sure
to extract to that folder, or extract into a temporary folder and
copy the files into that folder.

Unofficial Patches
The Drexler Patch - Loopy Landscapes
With the release of more recent versions
of RCT and the expansion pack, part of the main RCT file (rct.exe)
will perform checks on several things every time you attempt to
open a saved game. These checks include too much flat land, too
much money, too many rides available, etc, etc. Download this file
and save it to the same folder you have your rct.exe file in. Next,
backup your rct.exe file and tuck it somewhere safe, such as another
folder, or even on a floppy. After that, run the patch and it will
say if it was successful. It's that simple!

Disclaimer: This unofficial patch is
unsupported by Hasbro. If you have problems with RCT while the patch
is installed, please do not contact their support. Any problems
are likely due to this patch. This patch removes some of the internal
constraints on the data and can lead to crashes or malfunctioning
of the game. If this happens, your only option is to uninstall the
patch.
