| RCT Station Archives Launched
Posted Friday, February 29, 2008 by Jim "Red Phoenix" Chamberlin | | | | Wow, it's been a heck of a long time, but I decided to bring back the site... in an archival form. When RCT Station was at its prime, it was the best RollerCoaster Tycoon fan site out there. But all great things come to an end. Such was the case with RCT Station.
Some long-time fans of the site will notice some changes. This version wasn't the last version of the site. The tan/brown design (last version) wasn't truely ready for launch back in the day, so I wasn't about to bring it back. Instead, the gray design is here. It contains most of the content the site had, minus the standard track submissions and of course the forums.
We may not have all of the tracks on here anymore, but we do still have Steve Franks' incredible real roller coaster recreations.
The site has been offline for a very long time. And while there is a fair amount of content which I'm not offering up anymore, there's still quite a lot here. The knowledge base, for instance, was a favorite destination of a lot of fans, who were trying to learn more about the game.
I made sure to fix a lot of the links while making this site available again. The internet changes so much over time, so don't expect them all to work anymore. I didn't fix any of the links in the old news sections, so you'll get 404 Errors.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this archived copy of the old RCT Station.

| Forum Viewers Need To Login
Posted Wednesday, April 9, 2003 by Red Phoenix | | | | I realize that more than 40% of the site's visitors don't use the forums (post), but this is a problem for us. With so many forum "guests" downloading files, whether they're project files or looking at screenshots, our bandwidth has been increasing, increasing, and increasing. So, to hopefully save us some cash we're now requiring that people login to view the forums. I know not all of you like this, (including myself), but it's very necessary. You can still register on the forums - you just need to login to view the forums, that's all. | | . |
| Rumor Squashing
Posted Friday, April 4, 2003 by Red Phoenix | | | | I've received a few emails about this already and figured I'd correct something. On Strategy Planet.com, they mentioned that RollerCoaster Tycoon III was announced. The editor for that piece of news made a mistake; it's actually Railroad Tycoon III that's been announced - the editor simply made an error. I've contacted the editor about it, and hopefully, it will be corrected soon. | | . |
| Contest News
Posted Thursday, April 3, 2003 by Red Phoenix | | | | There will not be an April contest, so work on getting your parks in for the Pinnacle Park program.
The results are now up for the February/March contest. | | . |
| New Interview
Posted Sunday, March 30, 2003 by Red Phoenix | | | | I just added the interview I did with Mike Robbins to the Interview section.
Red Phoenix: Will you be redoing any of your parks with RCT 2?
Mike Robbins: Long term plans do include a remake of Busch Gardens Williamsburg. With the bigger map sizes available, I can fit everything on one entire map, which was something I had to break down in two maps with RCT1. Of course, I will also collaborate with Steve Franks on getting the perfectly made coasters too. Another remake will be Seven Wonders of the World. Those two parks have been two of my most popular works over the years and it will be nice to make these with RCT2 also. A Steve Franks Tribute Park Map 3 is also in the plans. | | . |

| Site Was Down For a Bit
Posted Tuesday, March 25, 2003 by Red Phoenix | | | | Sorry for the downtime we suffered. There was a problem with the billing management of the network, but it's been taken care of from what I can see.
If there's ever a problem with the site, you can check out rct2.com for news about it. I'll always try to either send Dave an email or make a forum posting there about it. | | . |

| Avatars Inc
Posted Friday, March 21, 2003 by Red Phoenix | | | | One of our forum members, Mr Scare, came across Avatars Inc, a site on GameSpy which has almost 10,000 avatars you can use for the forums. This is a great resource for finding an avatar if you can't find one that quite fits you elsewhere. | | . |
