A trainer is a program that you run at the same time
as the
Rollercoaster Tycoon game. When you press special
keys during the game, the trainer alters the game
in certain ways. For example, the trainer may allow
you to have more money, or finish research
early. Trainers are written by games enthusiasts who
have *hacked* into the game to learn something about
how it works.
It is possible therefore to use trainers to cheat
at
scenarios. However, the game knows when you have used
a trainer and will not allow you to load a saved game
file that you saved
after using a trainer. To get round this problem,
you have to patch the game so that you can load the
saved games. Josef
Drexler is the author of the most well-known patch
which is named after him.
Note that you apply patches and use trainers at your
own risk.If
you have technical problems with the game after patching
it or
using trainers, Hasbro will not offer you any support.
Always make a backup of the game program (called RCT.EXE)
before you add the Drexler
patch.
