Ogrewood Parks

This is a page dedicated to the Ogrewood park series.  These parks are, of course, done by Eric "Ogre" Lizotte.  The descriptions of each saved game were done by Red Phoenix, unless otherwise noted.

1. Ogrewood
Description:  Ogrewood is the first park of what should be several.  This one has some wonderful coasters and some decent themeing.  Ogre has also made use of water, and the parks looks pretty good.

2. Ogrewood 2
Description:  There are some pretty good rides here, and probably the coolest thing about this park in my opinion was how some of the rides just crested the tops of the trees.  It looked great.

3. Ogrewood 3
Description:  I liked this park quite a bit, actually.  A small stream spearates the majority of the rides, which is an interesting feature.  One of the better features of this park was the naming of the rides.  Far too often, I see rides named with no creativity.  Creativity is one aspect of naming a ride, but the surrounding area plays into this.  For example, there is an "space" area here, and the coaster was named Space Invader, and those little things I look at.  Galloping Ghost was a great looking hypercoaster.

4. Ogrewood 4
Description:  I have to admit that this park didn't have anything that jumped out.  I didn't really see any huge hypercoasters or anything amazing done with themeing.  As with the previous Ogrewood parks, you'll find streams snaking their way through the terrain.  The one coaster worth noting was probably Blizzard Ridge.  It's a huge bobsled coaster with over 10,000 feet in track.

5. Ogrewood 5
Description:  Ogre openly admits that he's not the greatest park designer, but I think he gets a little better with every creation.  In Ogrewood 5, Ogre brings in something I don't remember (but I could be wrong), a racer.  The Ogrewood Racers are a great touch, as they're a little difficult to build properly.  I do think they're a bit short, but they're nice.  Ogre always seems to bring in the obvious rides, like the Bobsled and Mouse Rides.  Out of all of the rides here, my favorite would have to be The Golden Mask, a large inverted coaster in Egyptain themeing.  It's the basic inverted coaster, not trying to do too much with it, just what I like to see.  One problem in the park is with the paths.  A lot of guests appear to be lost, so this is something Ogre may want to work on for future parks.

6. Ogrewood 6
Description:  Ogre impressed me in Ogrewood 5, with his inclusion of a racer, something that's always been missing from his work.  Does he offer anything new and interesting in Ogrewood 6?  I wish I could say Yes, but I don't see anything new and interesting, but it's another solid design.  In the majority of the early Ogrewood parks, water separated just about every ride, whether you believe it or not.  Ogre seems to have gone back to that idea, this time making the water-filled areas much wider, almost making it look like an IOA type of park, where everything is broken into islands.  Ogre's landscaping abilities have been improving lately.  I know he's a big fan of Mike Robbins' parks, so he's obviously got someone to learn from.  The coasters in general are pretty solid.

7. Ogrewood 7
Description:  Ogre continues to impress me with his parks, although Ogrewood 7 seems to lack a little something special.  Ogre seems to always be able to create a nicely designed bobsled flying through the snow-covered trees of his winter-themed areas in his parks.  Diversity is the key to this park; there are many, many different coasters here, a few too many in my opinion.  You'll find a racing woodie in one of the corners of the park.

8. Ogrewood 8
Description:  As in Ogre's previous parks, he displays many types of coasters, rides, and themes.  This park is no exception from Egyptain to winter themes, this park has it all.  Hera's Wicked Stare is a flying coaster wining through the trees and water which shows how to properly make a good coaster of this type.  Another good coaster is called Le Squirrel, a suspended Medieval coaster surrounded by castles.  Overall this is a fine park fit for the person that likes a little bit of everything. - Mike Robbins

9. Ogrewood 9
Description:  Ogrewood 9 is the Ogre's first mini park and despite their small sizes, they are a big challenge because you need to utilize as much space as you can and still keep it looking good. The Ogre does achieve this in a big way. The park is mostly medieval themed with three different coasters. Sir Lancelot is a wild wooden twister in an 'L' shaped out and back configuration. Then there is Sorceress, a stand-up steel twister with six inversions. You will also find Rodent Attack, a steel wild mouse coaster. This is the fastest wild mouse coaster I have seen! Be sure to check this park out. You won't be disappointed. - Mike Robbins

10. Ogrewood 10
Description:  Ogre has come to the final addition to the Ogrewood series.  This isn't to say it's his final park, just the last in this series.  He's certainly come a long way with his skills.  Compare them all, and you'll see how he's progressed over the months.  This park is probably the best park he's made.  The coasters were very well built.  My favorite is Red Phoenix, a wonderful inverted coaster, with most of the elements which make a great inverted coaster.
